Mauricio Pochettino remains the favourite to become Chelsea's next manager after positive talks with the club in recent weeks. The former Tottenham and Paris-Saint Germain boss has been without a job since he left the French outfit following their Ligue 1 title success at the end of the 2021/22 season.
Pochettino is thought to have set a series of demands during negotiations with the Blues, including setting out his plans for the summer transfer window. The 51-year-old is said to want to sign a new goalkeeper, striker and central midfielder.
Todd Boehly is looking to sell a number of current players ahead of next season to reduce the bloated squad size whilst lowering the wage bill and raising funds to reinvest in key areas of the team. Mateo Kovacic has been linked with a switch to Premier League rivals Manchester City, with N'Golo Kante yet to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge - as his current deal is set to expire at the end of the season.
