N Chandrasekaran has agreed to reconsider his earlier decision to step down as Tata Sons chairman, paving the way for him to continue as executive chairman at the Indian behemoth for another five years. This comes as the holding company prepares for a potentially transformative period involving a regulatory-driven stock market listing process.
At a board meeting on Thursday, Chandrasekaran acceded to the board's request to reconsider his decision and the board subsequently approved his reappointment as executive chairman for a further five-year term by a majority vote, according to a Tata Sons statement.
