This is the bizarre moment a well-dressed man is seen knocking on doors in a neighbourhood with a machete.
Locals in Florida have been left petrified after a bald, clean-shaven man with glasses, a tucked-in collared shirt with a tie and trousers is seen walking up to doors with a machete and then leave.
The man was caught by surveillance footage which shows him walking up to one Lauderhill home at around 5.30am on Monday morning with the knife.
Video shows the man using the machete's handle to knock on the door before stepping away from the front door.
The mysterious footage led to an increase police presence in the area after locals are becoming worried of the strange act.
One neighbour said: "I see some random dude knocking on the door with the back of a machete.
"Then he just disappears as quick as he came."
Whilst a female resident said she was baffled as to why the unidentified man knocked at the door and then immediately left.
She admitted: "It's so mysterious that we have no idea whatsoever of his intent.
"He didn't seem like someone lost or confused. He seemed very intentional, very businesslike, like he was dressed for business - just with a machete."
The man is seen knocking on another home earlier in the night according to the woman.
She told WSVN : "They saw the same thing that they went up to their door, the same away, and did the same thing.
'I think they were driving around." The neighbour admitted: "'Yeah, we're kind of freaked out."
Despite more of the incidents happening and an increased patrol of police in the area, no crimes have been committed police said.
However, this hasn't stopped the neighbourhood residents living in fear as they want someone to help can identify the man.
The neighbour admitted they just want the man to stop, he added: "I just hope somebody knows who the person is. That way we have peace of mind of what happens or — we don't want the person coming again, right?
"So we want to know exactly who it is that way everyone is aware also."
Parents living in the neighbourhood have admitted they are frightened to be left alone with their children with the man lurking around their hometown.
One mum said: "We have a 4-year-old son, I'm suddenly a lot more concerned and just with him getting out of the car, you know, myself."
Residents are now looking at their doorbell cameras even more as police plea for people to come forward and help identify the man.
Cops have offered a $5,000 reward for anyone with information to come forward.
The incidents have been labelled as suspicious as no crimes have been committed.
