Mystery as Les Dennis finds himself at the centre of graffiti craze again

Graffiti of Les Dennis' name has appeared without any explanation across the country.

The actor, as far as we are aware, isn't a big noise on the streets but that hasn't stopped his name from popping up around the country. The former Coronation Street star has found himself tagged in a rather large piece of graffiti in Birmingham - along with the late comedian Les Dawson.

It's currently unclear why the pair are the artist's chosen targets but this isn't the first time Les has found himself in this situation. In 2018, Norwich became synonymous with Les Dennis graffiti to such an extent he made a statement on the subject denying he was in any way connected to the vandals.

At the time, he told LBC Radio that a "low-rent Banksy" was "obsessed" with him. He said: "It's kind of crazy. I'm not condoning it at all. Whoever it is who is doing this - I'm saying you shouldn't be graffitiing public or private spaces. I promise it wasn't me."

He added: "You've got my word for it, that's all I can give. 'I'm not being cryptic here - it really wasn't me'."

It's understood that the Stirchley graffiti, now covering a Seven Capital site, appeared earlier this month. Local Phil Banting tweeted a picture of the tag and said: "I'm sure there's a perfectly rational explanation. Actually, this is Stirchley, so there probably isn't."

Phil was correct in his assumption as there remains no clear sign as to why Les has found himself at the centre of a graffiti spree - again.
