Mystery as 'floating gold' leaves dog 'bright orange' on beach walk

A mystery object found on a Welsh beach has sparked a debate over its origin.

A dog walker discovered the object on the shore near Trearddur Bay in Anglesey on Boxing Day and another piece on the same beach on New Year's Eve.

Observers believed it may have been solidified palm oil or potentially valuable ambergris. They also speculated whether it could be 'floating gold’, a rare lump of whale vomit which is produced in the intestines of a sperm whale.
