Mykola Kukharevych explains Hibs transfer as striker remains in Belgium amid work visa wait

New Hibs striker Mykola Kukharevych hopes to link up with his teammates soon as he waits for a work visa.

The Ukrainian forward has joined on loan from French Ligue 1 side ES Troyes AC, having spent the last 14 months on loan at OH Leuven in Belgium. Troyes are part of The City Group and the towering striker says that connection was partly behind his move, but he is waiting to see when he can make his debut for manager Lee Johnson at Easter Road. Kukharevych is still in Belgium but a Hibs arrival is expected shortly.

He told UA Football: "In Belgium, I was satisfied with everything, except my own playing time. I blended in well with the team, enjoyed the training process. I think I deserved more playing time than I got. Although I also understand that when the choice is between a club member and a loan player, the former will always be the priority.

"I need need to focus on a quick adaptation at Hibernian and try to help the team as much as possible in the new season."
