Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has claimed that new Chelsea signing Mykhailo Mudryk could reach the levels of Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge after impressing in his debut against Liverpool on Saturday.
Mudryk, who shot to prominence after impressive performances in the UEFA Champions League for Shakhtar Donetsk against the likes of Real Madrid, RB Leipzig and Celtic this season, seemed Arsenal-bound in the January transfer window before Chelsea flexed their financial muscles to bring sign the Ukraine winger for an initial £62million that could reach £89million in the future.
He made his Blues debut at Anfield at the weekend and instantly caught the eye with a jinking run that left Liverpool Joe Gomez at sixes and sevens, before firing a shot just wide of Alisson's goal. Liverpool struggled to contain Mudryk's direct running and pace - attributes that remind Hasselbaink of Eden Hazard, who had a hugely successful seven-year spell at the club before signing for Real Madrid in 2019.
