'My two vaginas mean I have two periods a month - and sex is pretty complicated'

A woman with two vaginas, uteruses and cervixes has learnt to love and embrace her body after being diagnosed with a rare condition in her teens. Annie Charlotte, from Surrey, discovered she had uterus didelphys when she went to get a contraceptive coil fitted at 16 years old.

The medical phenomenon means that she could conceive two babies with two different men at the same time. She also has two periods - which she manages with contraception - and says both vaginas are "completely functional". While it took a few years to accept her condition, Annie, 23, now finds it "so cool".

Speaking about her diagnosis, Annie told the Mirror : "I went with a friend to get a contraceptive coil fitted, the nurse was poking around down there and made a confused and surprised sound."

The diagnosis came as a huge shock to Annie, who was then informed of how it would affect her life.

"I was told that having children would be very difficult and would include having lots of hospital visits and eventually giving birth preterm by C-section, as the foetus wouldn't have enough space to be carried to full-term," she explained.

"I was also told that there would be a chance of multiple miscarriages.

"I'm scared to have children or try to conceive – it's something I've had worries about for a long time.

"I was a young woman. I was just starting to become interested in dating and exploring different parts of my body and I was suddenly told it was different to everyone else's.

"As a teenager, you want to be 'normal' and being told you weren't was really quite scary.

"I went off the rails a little, I didn't tell anyone anything, and I found it difficult to speak to my mum about it."

At university, Annie learnt to open up and accept her body and even used the quip 'I have two vaginas' as an ice breaker.

"I really started to accept it. I stopped looking at it as a medical issue, and all the problems that could arise from having children, and instead something that was just a super-cool aspect of myself because of people's reactions, they would be shocked but also so interested," she said.

"Now, I've completely embraced it and accepted it as part of myself, and I've never been more confident."

Besides pregnancy-related concerns, Annie's condition doesn't hugely affect her life and she has "gotten used to it".

"Any romantic partners have only ever been curious, but I've never had a bad reaction – just lots of questions!" she explained.

"Some people think I'm lying but overall everyone is just intrigued about it and wants to know more.

"Just after I was having sex with a guy I was dating, I told him [about it]. He was confused to say the least, saying that he didn't notice.

"I instructed him on how to feel for the wall that separates my vaginas, which is half an inch inside.

"Once he could feel it, he was still a little confused but also slightly fascinated."

After seeing other woman launch successful, lucrative pages, Annie realised she had something unique to bring to the table and set up OnlyFans in 2020.

Annie now makes £70,000 a month as a model on OnlyFans (Jam Press)

The model has been able to monetise her condition and makes up to £70,000 a month through her Instagram page @annieecharlotte.

"Most of the immediate questions I get from fans are 'do you really have two!?" she said.

"Everyone that subscribes always asks about it. A lot of the time they just want to know how the sexual stuff works, but some do want to know about the more mundane stuff too – like how I pee!

"I don't think they know much about female anatomy.

"I have my condition in my name and bio online so people following based on curiosity is common – and I film specific content around the whole concept of having two vaginas too."

Annie says it's been "life-changing" in the current financial climate and she feels proud to support herself.

"I've moved out at 23 years old, I am able to save, invest money, and live comfortably," she explained.

"I definitely found it daunting in the beginning, and it was difficult to tell my friends and my mum, but everyone that I care about has been so incredibly accepting and encouraging.

"I definitely have a very full-on life – I'm always busy making content for social media, OnlyFans, or chatting with my subscribers, so dating has taken a back seat for the moment.

"I never see myself returning to a traditional job, I really enjoy it. I always wanted to be an actress, so I guess this is the closest I'm going to get.

"It's also so cool to be an OnlyFans model with two vaginas… I'd say it's quite rare!"
