NOIDA: Around 50 families living in Sector 99 have expressed concern over the lackadaisical attitude of the Noida Authority to fixing the broken roads, sewers and overflowing drains, and cleaning the overgrown shrubs, creepers and plants across the sector. They claim to have filed many complaints with the Authority regarding the issue but till now no action has been taken.
“I'm living in the B block of the sector for the past 10 years. The civic conditions here are pathetic. The overflowing drains result in an accumulation of water on roads for a long time. Due to this, the spot becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes, especially during monsoon. Last year, many in the sector suffered from dengue due to these conditions. However, the drains were not cleaned this year either. Apart from this, the roads are broken and not cleaned every day. The sector roads haven't been cleaned for over a month now,” said Vinod Choudhary, the RWA president of Sector 99, adding that the sector supervisor refused to attend to the complaints made to him.
