Any parent knows that children have lots of energy to burn, and often running around the garden and playing with siblings or friends is a great way to tire them out. However, one woman is fuming that her next door neighbour's son constantly ventures out into the garden to kick his football around and has had enough of the noise.
Taking to popular forum Mumsnet to vent her frustrations, the anonymous woman insists that she's not a 'miserable old bag', but is keen to put an end to the outdoor sport and confront his parents. She admits that the game often results in balls landing in her own back garden, which means she's constantly pestered for their safe return.
Things got even more tense after the young boy broke the woman's window, thanks to his reckless activities.
In the post, she fumed: "Older mum now with teenage kids. Don't want to be a Scrooge or have anyone think I'm a miserable old bag lol.
"Have moved to a new neighbourhood and am getting fed up having to listen to the kid next door screeching in the garden.
"He's constantly kicking the football over our fence then rings on the doorbell to get it back and has even broken a window in our conservatory by kicking his ball at it.
"I tried ignoring the doorbell yesterday despite us clearly being in thinking the parents might get the hint but then he just hung over the fence to get our attention.
Seeking advice, the woman asked Mumsnet users: "Don't want to fall out with neighbours, but has anyone got any advice on how I can deal with it?"
Taking to the comment section, one person shared their first-hand advice: "We had two neighbours who dealt with balls from my boys in two very different ways.
"Neighbour one said - back gate is always open so help yourself! Neighbour two said - do not come round - if I see a ball I will throw it back.
"Both neighbours avoided us ringing their door bell and we always got the ball back!
"You could try out the second option and see if it works!" The person added.
