'My neighbour keeps 10 dogs locked in the house - barking keeps us up all night'

If you live in close proximity to your neighbours, then you'll no doubt have experienced a few difficulties throughout the years - most commonly to do with noise.

While people can relate to their neighbours being obnoxiously loud at times, a woman has claimed that her nightmare neighbours have seemingly topped the list after making her life 'hell'.

Taking to popular forum site Mumsnet, the mum expressed her anger that her neighbour's dogs' barking is so loud that she can't sleep.

She explained: "I moved in October to a maisonette with my six-year-old. Below us lives a woman with ten dogs. These dogs are never walked and are always inside her two-bedroom house."

The woman went on: "Obviously the barking is constant - day and night. Our life is hell. Sleep deprivation is a form of torture and it's not fair for the dogs to always sit indoors too.

"I reported this to the RSPCA, the council, and landlords, but nothing is done."

Seeking advice, the Reddit user questioned: "Is my only option to move now? Is it animal cruelty to keep ten dogs inside and never walk them?

"Can anyone give me advice? I'm desperate now. My child is disabled and she can't sleep at night begging me to stop the barking."

She added: "The smell is unbearable too, it comes up to our house from downstairs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated."

Since sharing her thread, the mum's post has raked in over 100 comments to date - where people sympathised with the woman and shared suggestions on how to proceed with the awkward ordeal.

One person admitted: "I'd move, yes. This situation is unlikely to improve."

A second Reddit user agreed: "Are you able to move? I know it's another upheaval but I think it's going to be very hard to fix."
