Often, if someone politely asks you whether you'll do something for them, you'll be more than happy to oblige if it helps them out in some way - especially if they're a neighbour and you have to see them regularly.
But what would you do if your neighbour had their car towed into your garden, without asking you prior?
One Redditor was left seething after the people next door to them decided to have their vehicle towed into their back garden - and just dumped it there, giving them no courtesy or consideration.
They were furious at the unsightly SUV sitting in their yard, so asked for advice on what to do.
They took to Reddit's 'Neighbour's from Hell' forum to rant, writing: "So, my neighbors got an SUV towed into the backyard...my backyard.
"I have a fence but there is a patch of grass in front of my driveway outside the fence that has a marker between our properties.
"They seamlessly moved said marker and towed it right onto my side of the yard.
"Who do I call? Police? City ordinance? I have no choice but to be a b***h now. No one asked me. They've tested my boundaries little by little but I don't want my property looking like a salvage yard."
In the comments, people urged them to do something about it - especially because they'd moved the marker between the properties.
"I would call the police non-emergency line and say someone abandoned a car in your yard", someone suggested.
Another wrote: "It could've very easily (and most likely) been the fault of the tow driver and not the neighbour at all. The rational thing to do would be to contact your neighbour and ask them to move it. If they shrug it off or take an unreasonable amount of time, then call the non-emergency line."
"Seems like this guy is just p***ing on you", a Redditor shared, whilst someone fumed: "They didn't wait to put that hunk of junk in your yard with no consideration to you. Why should you wait to have it towed out of your yard?"
"The vehicle is the immediate issue to handle, but the property markers are the important issue", a Redditor suggested.
"Please contact the local government, whichever division would handle property/boundary/survey/I-don't-know-the-proper-terms issues ASAP. Ydon't want to risk a squatters' rights situation or risk losing part of your land.
"I know laws are different everywhere, but there will be a legal record somewhere of what exactly are your property boundaries and which government office handles violations
"When you bought your home, there may have been a property line survey done at some point, or that info may be in your records for that time."
