Incoming Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has successfully guided Ajax to their 36th Eredivisie title following a 4-0 win over SC Heerenveen at the Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday evening.
The Dutch giants, who have now won three league titles under Ten Hag, entered the contest knowing that a victory would move them four points clear of PSV Eindhoven with just one game left to play. After stuttering against AZ Alkmaar on Sunday, drawing 2-2, they got the job done on Wednesday night, securing a comfortable victory, ensuring they wrapped up the title with a game to spare.
First-half goals from Nicolas Tagliafico, Steven Berghuis and Sebastian Haller put Ten Hag's troops 3-0 up at the break. Brian Brobbey added a fourth with just five minutes of normal time left on the clock to complete the victory.
