My Hero Academia special epilogue trailer proves you can have nostalgia for something that ended only a year ago

After its ending last year, My Hero Academia fans will have undoubtedly wanted more from the heroes they spent close to the past decade watching.

Now, they're getting 'More' – a post-finale special that catches up with the superhero anime's major players eight years down the line.

As you can see above, the special trailer previews how Izuku and the rest of his former classmates are getting on after the events of 2025's My Hero Academia series finale.

There is, of course, plenty of hero antics, as well as what appears to be a more low-key school reunion for those who fought alongside each other. Is it possible to be nostalgic for something that ended a year ago? If not, 'More' is about as close as we'll get to feeling that way.

An adaptation of My Hero Academia's manga epilogue, 'More' isn't expected to run for longer than any typical anime episode, but it will be good to see everyone again, that's for sure.

The My Hero Academia anime first debuted in 2016 and became one of the first shows to propel the medium into its current golden age. Alongside Fire Force and Dr. Stone, it is one of the latest anime to come to an end in the past 12 months.

Elsewhere, new anime this spring season include the return of One Piece, magic goings-on in Witch Hat Atelier, and ongoing isekai adventures in Re:Zero season 4.

My Hero Academia: More is streaming on Crunchyroll from May 2.
