As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly entrenched in daily life, a new survey has found that nearly a third of children using AI chatbots are developing “friend-like” relationships with the technology.
The poll, commissioned by Vodafone, explored the experiences of 2,000 children aged between 11 and 16, alongside their parents. It revealed that 31 per cent of those who have engaged with an AI chatbot agreed they would describe it as akin to a friend.
