A 'My 600lb Life' star has left fans stunned as she now looks unrecognisable after shedding a whopping 21st. Erica Wall, 44, looks totally different as she shared a swimsuit snap to her followers on social media.
The 44-year-old, from California, US, rose to fame on the popular TLC show, appearing on season five back in 2017. On the programme, she revealed her tragic backstory, which added to her addiction to food, the Daily Star reports.
Erica says the death of her mother and an ill-advised stomach stapling only added to her weight gain. At the start of My 600lb Life, the reality star described her life as miserable due to the fact that she was unable to walk anywhere, which destroyed her independence.
The 44-year-old was determined to lose weight in the programme and her first steps came when she took a flight to Dr Now’s Houston office despite receiving medical advice not to fly.
Ahead of her flight, she said: "I’m doing this so that I have a chance to live. How did I get to this point, where I’m like a sideshow to people?
"And they have to cart me past everyone? They’ve already made me buy a whole aisle of three seats because of my size…. But this is my only chance. And I have no other options."
Erica confessed on the show that her weight gain also had a toll on her romantic relationships. In particular, she highlighted that she was was worried about reconnecting with her "friend" Jimmy.
However, when TLC caught up with Erica after her weight loss journey a few years later, she and Jimmy sparked a new romance. She also revealed that alongside the 190lbs she lost on the show, she had also lost another 100lbs.
She shared her progress with fans by sharing a 2018 picture of her wearing a plunging pattered swimsuit. In the image, she can be seen staring down the lens with her red hair pulled back to show off her slimmed-down features.
Following the post, people were quick to share their congratulations for her weight loss over the years. One person said: "I'm writing [to] you from Italy. I've just finished your second part of programme today. I'm so glad to see you very happy and satisfied. Have a good Life with your love and be strong every time."
Another added: "Congratulations Erica." Meanwhile a third said: "Hello from Israel! You are a HERO!!"
