- Another Briton, 56-year-old Martin Anstee, was transported from the MV Hondius on Wednesday to the Netherlands for specialist medical treatment.
- Dr Maria Van Kerkhove of the World Health Organisation confirmed that the patient in South Africa is doing better, and the two patients in the Netherlands are stable.
- While the WHO assesses the public health risk as low, Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that more cases of the Andes virus, a hantavirus variant, could emerge due to its incubation period of up to six weeks.
