In what may be described as an interesting evening celebrating food, history and gastronomical legacy of Delhi, eminent authors and celebrities participated in a panel discussion around Chef Gunjan Goela's book "Baniya Legacy of Old Delhi – Culture & Cuisine", at the Park Hotel, New Delhi on Sunday.
The conversation delved into the rich legacy of food in Delhi, with a diverse group of panelists offering their unique insights. Among them were Swapna Liddle, Delhi historian, Pushpesh Pant, food critic and author, Manjit Gill, the President of IFCA (Indian Federation of Culinary Associations), and Rita Ganguly, a distinguished classical musician and dancer. Together, they explored various aspects of Baniya cuisine, such as its cultural and historical significance, culinary aspects, and wider context in the Indian culinary landscape.
