Numerous Manchester United supporters have waxed lyrical about midfielder James Garner after he played a key role in helping Nottingham Forest beat Huddersfield Town 1-0 in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
The United loanee — who has spent the duration of this season on loan on the banks of the Trent — provided the assist for the game's only goal, seeing his cross turned home by Huddersfield defender Levi Colwill. Garner was attempting to pick out midfield partner Ryan Yates, who had earlier headed agonisingly wide from another Garner cross.
Garner will now have ambitions of becoming part of Erik ten Hag's plans at Old Trafford next season, having delivered the goods on his (probable) final outing in Forest colours. It was a stunning end to a superb loan spell in Nottingham.
