An Ayr band will bid to raise the roof as a top night of music comes to town tonight.
The Mocking Byrds headline an evening of indie entertainment at Venue38 in Carrick Street.
Showcasing some of Ayrshire's best talent, the night is part of a continuing attempt to kickstart Ayr's night scene.
Jason Skimming, lead singer of the Byrds, says the 'Limelight Indie Night' is vital for the future of music in the town.
He told Ayrshire Live: "I've lost count of the number of times people complain about a lack of proper live music nights in Ayr and how things aren't what they used to be.
"The fact is there's plenty of acts out there and there's a lot of talent on the scene - and a night like this will hopefully show it off.
"The guys at Venue38 are trying really hard to establish themselves and get a reputation for putting on great music nights and long may that continue.
"They couldn't have opened at a worse time at the start of lockdown, but hopefully now they can really hit the ground running and I know they have some really exciting plans for the future."
Jason, who fronted the popular Seaside Sons, is now heading up the recently formed Mocking Byrds, a guitar-based rock and roll act who have enjoyed a busy summer festival season.
Fellow members Gavin McMulkin, John Lauchlan and Glen McKay complete a talented line-up.
They will be joined by support acts Ocean Views and Christie Oliver.
Jason added: "The band is just getting started and we've had a fantastic summer. This will be our last gig before we head into the studios to start laying down some material.
"It's a great chance for the Ayrshire public to come out and enjoy a good night of music for only £6 and hopefully they'll be richly entertained."
