Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Amandeep, Harpreet steer Chhattisgarh to convincing win

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh batters Amandeep Khare (73 off 59) and Harpreet Singh Bhatia (unbeaten 60 off 42) guided the team to a convincing eight-wicket victory over Chandigarh in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 match played at Lucknow on Tuesday.

Chhattisgarh won the toss and chose to bat first. They put a decent total of 150 for six in the stipulated 20 overs, setting the target of 151 for the opponent team.

Manan Vohra made 52 off 43 while Rajangad Bava scored 30 off 31 for Chandigarh. Chhattisgarh spinners Sumit Ruikar and Ajay Mandal claimed two wickets each while pacer Sourabh Majumdar took two. Chasing the target, Chhattisgarh won the match with ten balls to spare.

Chhattisgarh have so far played three matches and won two including their victory over Tamil Nadu. The match between Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh was abandoned without a ball bowled due to rains.

In the first match, Chhattisgarh defended 132 runs successfully by restricting Tamil Nadu to 126 for nine. The second match against Jharkhand was washed away by rains while Chhattisgarh defeated Sikkim in the third match by nine wickets.
