Musheer Khan smashes 38-ball century

MUMBAI: After missing out on the ongoing Indian Premier League, as he remained unsold at the player auctions in December last year, Mumbai's latest batting sensation Musheer Khan is trying his best to attract the attention of the IPL franchises.

On Saturday, the in-form 19-year-old blasted off a 38-ball century for Payyade Sports Club against PJ Hindu Gymkhana in an MCA Presidents Cup T20 match.

At the time of writing this, Musheer was batting on 139 not out (55b, 9x6, 17x4).

Musheer opened the batting with his elder brother, India's Test batsman Sarfaraz Khan, but the latter was dismissed for just one.

The 19 year-old played a pivotal role in Mumbai's 42nd Ranji Trophy title triumph, scoring 433 runs in three matches at an impressive average of 108.25 in the knockouts of the tournament.

His exploits included a 203 not out against Baroda in the quarterfinal at BKC and 136 in the final against Vidarbha at the Wankhede Stadium, besides taking five wickets with his left-arm spin @20.80.
