A murder suspect has been arrested in Suffolk in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man outside a curry house in Oldham. The 31-year-old man, from Rochdale, is being questioned by detectives in connection with the murder, which took place on Union Street in the early hours of Saturday.
The victim, a man in his 40s from Oldham, was stabbed several times, sustaining a fatal wound to the chest, after a night out. Police say it's thought an 'altercation' took place close to Light of Bengal restaurant.
The victim was taken to hospital with critical injuries, but pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect, who was detained in Ipswich overnight, is expected to arrive at a Greater Manchester police station shortly for questioning. Police say at this stage they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the attack.
