A murder probe has been launched over the death of a woman in Aberdeen who has been described by heartbroken family as a "deeply loved" mother.
Police have named the woman discovered near an address on Stoneywood Road, in Dyce as 47-year-old Jill Barclay, who was local to the area.
Officers were called to the scene at around 3.30am on September 17, with forensics teams snapped amid a significant emergency service response.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her death. Police have said that their enquiries in the area will be ongoing for some time to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
Jill’s family have also released a heartbreaking statement, in which they said: “Jill was a deeply loved life partner, mother and daughter. We would now appreciate being left in peace to grieve privately.”
Detective Superintendent Andrew Patrick, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with Jill’s family and friends at what is a very difficult time for them.
“We have a dedicated team of officers in the area working on this investigation and I would like to reassure the community that they can speak to them if they have any concerns.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
