A man has been charged with the murder of Peter Marecheau, who died after an alleged assault in a Brent industrial estate.

Abdelaziz Maaroufi, 25, of Alperton, is due to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

The murder probe was launched after the 67-year-old died in hospital on Monday after an alleged assault which left him with a severe head injury.

Police were informed by paramedics at 4.20pm on Friday, September 9, that Mr Marecheau had been rushed to hospital following an incident at Alperton's Abbey Industrial Estate.

A crime scene was put in place and police also attended the hospital where Mr Marecheau was being treated for his wounds.

Officers said his next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers and that a post-mortem would follow in due course.
