Murder arrests after man found dead near canal in west London

Three peole have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead near a canal path in west London.

His body was found in Ealing, at a property in Horsenden Lane North, on Tuesday evening (December 16).

The death is being treated as “unexpected” and it is not clear at this stage how the man died.

Police and ambulances rushed to the home in the Greenford area of the borough at around 11:15pm after a welfare report was made.

He had already passed away by the time paramedics attended.

Two men aged 36 and 43, and a 39-year-old woman were arrested at the scene and are in custody.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “At around 23:15hrs on Tuesday, 16 December police were called to reports of a concern for welfare at an address in Horsenden Lane North, Greenford.

“Officers, along with the London Ambulance Service, attended and sadly discovered the body of a man. He was pronounced dead.

“Two men, aged 43 and 36, and a 39-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. They have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

“At this stage, the death is being treated as unexpected and enquiries are ongoing. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

“A crime scene remains in place.”
