Murder accused jumps from 5th floor of court complex

A 34-year-old murder accused sustained severe injuries when he jumped from the 5th floor of the city civil court complex while being escorted by the City Armed Reserve (CAR) police on Wednesday. Jitin was rushed to HOSMAT and is said to be critical .

According to the police, he was arrested by Hulimavu police on March 2020 for allegedly killing his 5-year-old daughter and one and a half year old son over a domestic row with his wife.

The accused had been in judicial custody in Parappana Agrahara prison since then, and on Wednesday, a team of CAR police escorted him to appear for a hearing . While returning from the court hall and walking down the ramp, Jitin pushed the CAR constables escorting him and jumped.

The Halasuru Gate police have registered a case of attempt to suicide and initiated investigations into the incident.
