Mums 'blow off January blues' by jetting to Lanzarote for the day on £23 flight

Two mums blew off the 'January blues' by jetting to Lanzarote for the day on a £23 flight. One of the women on the trip says it was better 'than a Sunday round Sainsbury's'.

The pair of best friends took to social media to share their experience of their 2,500 mile journey for a day out away from the family. Manchester Evening News reports that between them the mums have seven children.

However, despite their busy home life they insist there is still time to have fun. Posting on TikTok, the user '0nlyMums', said: “Well my weekend's on the up because I’ve just booked a £23 flight to Spain for the day to blow off the January blues.

"Me and the bestie. The packed lunch is made for the kids on Monday and I’ll be back at midnight!”

In another video, the mother shared photos of her living her best life in Lanzarote saying it was “better than a Sunday round Sainsbury’s!” She urged people to be more spontaneous, saying you can do more with your day off at a low cost.

The mum added: “Ladies, if you only think you have a day to spare, make it count! You can absolutely do it.

"We got up at 3.45am. We’ve had the best day in Lanzarote.

"We’ve been in the sea, had three sex on the beach cocktails, been to Zara - what more do you need hun? Book the flight!”

The most recent video has gained over 1.3 million views and the comment section is flooded with people giving their takes on the pair's antics. Many viewers deemed the duo as “legends” for making the most of their day off.

One person said: “This energy is amazing! Well done ladies!

"Hope you both had the best time!”

Another said: “This is exactly what life is about.”

Alongside the praise for the mum's, other people who had also done spontaneous day trips shared their experiences. One person said: “Did this for a laugh and went to Germany for the day.

"Sounds cheesey but you just have to see the whole journey as the fun part, not the destination.

Another added: “Great fun, I've done it with work colleagues, great fun, done Venice, Milan, Barcelona, Rome, Amsterdam, Dublin - all places I would never have seen."

However, not everyone has had a positive experience at catching last minute flights. One user said: ”My mate did this this weekend, it snowed at Manchester airport and she was sat on the plane for a total of 9 hours while they were sorting it out.”
