In a plot reminiscent of Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Special 26’, a sacked driver allegedly joined hands with two serving Income Tax officials and others to stage a fake raid at his former employer’s Mumbai office and demand Rs 1 crore.
The extortion attempt was foiled after the company owner asked the alleged raiding team to produce documents authorising the search. Andheri police have arrested 10 people in connection with the July 17 incident, including the two I-T officials.
