MUMBAI: Former Mumbai Police commissioner Param Bir Singh — now suspended — who has been summoned by the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) in connection with an open inquiry on the alleged complaint of corruption, has communicated to the agency that he will not be able to attend their summons on short notice and due to the pandemic, and has assured to appear before the agency after the third week of the month.
The ACB officials said that they had summoned Singh in connection with the open inquiry on complaints of police inspector Anup Dange on January 10 and January 18 but he did not turn up on both dates. Earlier, the ACB officials had said that they had not received any communication on this but later, a senior ACB official confirmed that they found a letter from Singh’s lawyer.
