Mumbai's poor show: Cricket Improvement Committee to meet on Dec 19

MUMBAI: Mumbai cricket's think tank is set to discuss the senior team’s below par performance in both the white-ball tournaments this season, and chalk out a plan for the Ranji Trophy, which will tee off on January 5.

The Mumbai Cricket Association’s Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC), headed by former India opener Lalchand Rajput, will meet head coach Omkar Salvi and the senior selection committee, led by ex-India pacer Raju Kulkarni, at the MCA's facility in Bandra-Kurla Complex on Tuesday.

Mumbai exited in the quarterfinal stage of both the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy (one-dayers).

“The meeting will involve an assessment of Mumbai's performance in the two whiteball tournaments this season, and drawing up a plan for the Ranji Trophy,” a source said.
