MUMBAI: A goods train derailed on Down Main line near Kasara on Sunday evening. Two wagons of the train had derailed and the restoration work was being expedited, an official said.
The Mail Express train traffic was affected due to the derailment.
Suburban local train traffic was not affected, said Central Railway chief spokesperson Shivraj Manaspure. “Kalyan station road ART (accident relief train and Igatpuri station rail ART (accident relief train) was moved to accident site," he added.
Among the trains affected are 12261 CSMT-Howrah Express and 11401 CSMT-Adilabad nandigram Express.
