Mumbai: Goods train assistant loco pilot injured in stone pelting at Vaitarna

MUMBAI: A Western Railway (WR) assistant loco pilot of a goods train sustained injuries on his face after an unknown man pelted stones on the running train, shattering the glass window, near Vaitarna railway station on Sunday night.

The train operated by loco pilot Supriya Paroha was headed from Vaitarna to Vasai. At around 7.55 pm when the train left Vaitarna station, Paroha and the assistant loco pilot Simbu Meena saw a man, in his 30s, standing on the track. As the train slowed down, the unidentified man picked up stones lying alongside the track and hurled it at the train from a distance of 20-25 meters. He then fled to the east side.
