MUMBAI: The effect of a dust storm, that emanated from the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, over Mumbai is expected to continue for at least a day. Against Saturday's air quality index (AQI) of 302, the city continued to fare poorly on Sunday with an AQI of 304, ahead of Delhi's AQI at 83.

“As predicted on Saturday, Ahmedabad is limping back to normal but Mumbai will experience poor air at least until Monday and then will quickly be back to moderate level,” Gufran Beign, SAFAR’s programme director told TOI.
He added: “The dust marching is getting blocked by the southern slopes of the Sahyadri mountain range in Maharashtra. Hence, further spread of the storm is unlikely,”
