MUMBAI: Enforcement Directorate (ED) registered a money laundering case against fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and close associates and raided nine premises in Mumbai and a location in Thane, including the house of his late sister Haseena Parkar at Nagpada, on Tuesday.
Dawood is believed to be in Pakistan under the control of the country's intelligence agency, the ISI. It is learnt that the ED will investigate a property deal of a senior politician with one of Dawood's jailed aides who was convicted in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case.
