MUMBAI: In a crucial development, senior advocate and former Advocate General of Maharashtra Darius Khambata has opined that “It is legitimately arguable that the decisions taken by the members at the meeting (Annual General Meeting) of the Mumbai Cricket Association conducted on March 19, 2022 constitute decisions taken by the General Body of the MCA at an AGM, notwithstanding the change in venue.”
Khambata’s opinion (a copy is with TOI) holds significance since he has said that the “Apex Council does not have the power or authority by itself to appoint the Ethics Officer, Ombudsman, or the Auditor or any office that combines these three offices. I have nothing further to add.”
