MUMBAI: Irked by the absence, a sessions court on Friday issued a non-bailable warrant against artist Chintan Upadhyay, accused in the 2015 murder of his wife, fellow artist Hema Upadhyay, and her lawyer Haresh Bhambani.
After a plea was moved, his advocate later in the day, assuring the court he would be at the next hearing, the court said the warrant was to be kept pending and not handed over to the police for execution.
Earlier in the day, the court took objection to the absence.
