Mumbai: BJP goes all out to woo voters with Dandiya

MUMBAI: Continuing to woo the Marathi Manoos in the city through cultural events, the BJP has organized a 4-day Marathi Dandiya from October 19 to 23. The party has roped in singer Avadhoot Gupte to perform at the event.

BJP Mumbai unit president Ashish Shelar said after Dahi Handi and Ganeshotsav celebrations, the party has decided to organise Dandiya, Bhondla and Garba events at more that 300 places across Mumbai.

Addressing a press conference at the party state headquarters in Mumbai on Tuesday, Shelar said the BJP actively participated in Ganeshotsav celebrations in Mumbai and Konkan and now it will participate in Navratri celebrations as well. The four day Marathi Dandiya will be held at Abhyudaya Nagar, Kalachowkie in Dadar.

“People are noticing BJP’s active participation in these celebrations. While the BJP has partnered for garba and dandiya at 200 places, it has organized garba and dandiya at 100 places across the city. Grand dandiya has been organized at 18 places. The special attraction of this Marathi Dandiya will be the team of Marathi artists who will be performing with singer Avadhoot Gupte,” he said. BJP MP Manoj Kotak has organized ‘Prerna Raas 2023’ Dandiya at Mulund, MLA Sunil Rane has organized ‘Rangaratri Dandiya’ in Borivali, MLC Pravin Darekar has organised ‘Rangaras Navratri 2023’ and MP Gopal Shetty and Santosh Singh have organised a special dandiya at Borivali. Sunil Shinde has organized a special celebration at Lokhandwala, former corporator Vinod Shelar has organized a grand dandiya celebration at Malad, MLA Amit Satam has organised ‘Adarsh Navratri’ celebration in Juhu’s JVPD Ground and former corporator Murji Patel has organized ‘Chhogada Re’ dandiya event in Andheri. Shelar has organized a special celebration in his Bandra West Assembly constituency at the Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Ground in Santacruz.

Artists Dandiya Queen Geeta Rabari and Bhumi Trivenda will be performing at the dandiya in Andheri, Dandiya Queen Falguni Pathak and other artists from Marathi and Hindi industry will be performing as also Hanif Aslaf’s band.
