MUMBAI: A Central Mumbai family who wanted to go for a holiday tour to Dubai was duped of Rs 7.6 lakh by a con travel agent early this month. Mulund police registered an FIR against Rupen Gupta and Madhuri Gupta of cheating and forgery, and are looking out for them.
Vinod Kumar Dhal, who is in the textile industry, had planned the visit with his family in June.
Dhal has a grown-up daughter and son. Fahim Ansari
suggested to him Skylark Gupta's Safarnama Leisures, which organises tours for families. Ansari gave him the operator's mobile number of its owner Rupen.
Rupen gave a quotation of Rs7 lakh and told him to deposit at least 70% for booking in a bank account. -S Ahmed Ali
