Mumbai: 3 of family dead in Kurla crash; man who moved in with wife, son 3 days ago killed

MUMBAI: The Kurla crash site wore a grim look as families looked for missing loved ones all through Tuesday and were left devastated after their bodies were found. Senior citizen Lata Shinde was one such person seen hovering around the site looking for her brother Prahlad (65), his wife Lilabai (60) and their son Ajinkya (34). "We would call Ajinkya Bhalu. He worked as a security guard. No one is telling us if anyone of them has been found," said Shinde. Late on Tuesday, bodies of all three were found. Ajinkya's wife and son were not at home at the time of the tragedy.

Ramesh Badiya (50), his wife Devaki (42) and son Preet (14) had moved into the building just three days ago. While Devaki and Preet were pulled out alive on Tuesday morning, Ramesh could not be traced till evening. He was taken to civic-run Rajawadi Hospital where he was declared dead. The mother and son's condition was stable, said officials. Ramesh's brother Devraj, a tailor, and his wife Gauri had come looking for him. "We lived as a joint family at Thakkar Bappa Colony in the area when we were informed our building was dilapidated. A few members moved to Shell Colony in Chembur while my brother's family shifted here," said Devraj. Gauri said she went around with Ramesh's photo but could not find him. -
