A woman who tragically died after she suffered an allergic reaction from a wrap she ate contaminated with milk was stepped over by inconsiderate shoppers on the street as she lay dying, an inquest heard. Celia Marsh, 42 purchased a 'super-veg rainbow flatbread' from a Pret a Manger store in Bath, Somerset on December 27, 2017 that had been advertised as 'dairy free.'
The mum-of-five had been out shopping with her husband, when she ate the wrap and then collapsed on the street, suffering a deadly reaction, as by passers simply stepped over her. The item which she consumed had a coconut yoghurt dressing sold by Australian Brand, CoYo, which at the time was legal for manufacture in the UK to British firm, Planet Coconut, the Daily Star reports.
According to the coroner, the mother's allergic reaction known as 'anaphylaxis' was triggered by traces of milk protein discovered in the wrap. She ate the whole wrap and the anaphylaxis was brought on within 15 minutes, with one of the paramedics at the inquest saying that people had stepped over her as she had the reaction.
