Mum warned that chosen baby name sounds like son will be 'born wearing camo'

A woman has taken to social media to ask what people think of a name idea which she has for her son. The soon-to-be mum was keen on the "outdoorsy" name 'Archer'.

But she was concerned it would sound a bit too hunting-themed, especially due to the combination of that first name and the woman's surname: Huntley. Unfortunately, users of the popular forum site Reddit agreed.

They were quick to tell the woman that the name made it sound as if the little boy would be "born wearing camo". With a couple weeks until her son's birth, she's realising that she may have to consider something else.

As reported by the Mirror, She wrote : "My husband and I both like the name Archer for our second little boy due next month. My one concern is our last name which is Huntley.

"We are not hunters or overly outdoorsy. Is this combination too much of a hunting theme or am I over thinking it? Thanks in advance!"

A Reddit user replied: "Oh yeah for sure it is. I would expect your baby to be born wearing camo."

"Yeah, unfortunately it's way too strong. Although, I do think Archer Huntley is a nice-sounding name," added a second. "How about Arthur instead? It's similar but without the hunting theme," they suggested.

Others agreed it would be best for the parents to pick out a new name with one person writing: "Big yikes. Incredibly cringe… 'theme' doesn’t even cover it."

Another thought: "It's way too much. Go with Asher or Arthur." But someone else quipped: "That's honestly funny enough to go for it, make his middle name 'Bo' or 'Scout'."
