A mum wants to find and thank a stranger who saved her young son’s life as he choked on a sweet.
Mary Long O’Connor was enjoying an afternoon at home with her six-year-old son Martin in Cork, Ireland on Thursday when things took a dramatic turn.
The little boy suddenly choked on a blue bonbon he had been eating, with Mary desperately ringing 999.
She then grabbed her gasping son from the hallway and rushed to the front door, screaming for help.
Neighbours came rushing but Martin lost consciousness and appeared to be in a very bad way.

But thanks to the swift actions and kindness of one stranger, the youngster survived his close shave with death, reports CorkLive.
Mary described what followed as a "total blur" but was able to piece together much of the story with her neighbours help.
The kind stranger is thought to have been parked in the Supervalu car park next door, and after hearing the commotion, ran across to help.
He saved Martin’s life by following instructions given by the first responders on the 999 call.
Mary said: "I can't really remember much, there was shouting - my son was unconscious but this man came to the rescue, he just jumped in, must have cleared his airway and performed CPR on Martin until the paramedics got there.
"It was all so sudden, he stayed there, suddenly there were loads of paramedics and they took over, they got Martin into the ambulance and took us to CUH [Cork University Hospital]."
Martin was in hospital for three days following the terrifying incident as doctors carried out endoscopic procedures and kept him under observation.
But he recently returned back home and is off school for a week, with Mary saying he is ‘on the mend’.
But following the miraculous save, Mary now wants to meet the kind stranger and thank him for saving her son’s life.
She said: "I don't know who he is, but I am very grateful for the man who saved Martin's life. I want to thank him for his amazing courage and bravery and for what he has done for me and my son.
"Everything was a bit frantic at the time, but now hopefully I will get the proper chance to reach out and give my gratitude."
