Mum ties up daughter, 5, and leaves her on roof in 42C for 'not finishing her homework'

A mum has sparked outrage after appearing to punish her child by tying her up and leaving her on a roof in unbearable heat for not finishing her homework in India.

A video of the girl, five, was shared online on June 2 showing her tied with a rope and lying on the roof of a house in the scorching sun - where temperatures have reached 42C on previous days.

The clip was filmed by a neighbour and widely shared online.
