A money-saving expert has shared a simple way to save when doing your washing. Mum Holly Smith appeared on ITV's This Morning and shared her hack with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.
Her appearance came as millions of people across the country look to save money on bills, Yorkshire Live reports. Holly, the founder of the largest Facebook Money Saving Group, revealed a simple switch to the Eco Egg, which replaces both laundry detergent and fabric softener, saved her a huge amount of money and now she won't use anything else.
The Eco Egg is essentially a plastic-filled egg with pellets and costs just £8 to initially buy. Good for 70 washes, you'll pay £4 for a refill which will give you 50 washes. Holly, who is also known as the coupon queen, told the hosts: "I was calculating this earlier and since I started using this in 2018, I've managed to save over £500. I've got four kids so I'm constantly washing over and over.
