By sharing her shopping list and cooking tips mum Ashleigh has demonstrated how you can make some super tasty and healthy recipes by buying wisely and making sure you make the most of your ingredients.
It's all about using up all you've got and making sure you divide your ingredients between your different meals correctly.
Her shopping basket is packed full of goodies to provide you with enough ingredients to make Parmesan Crusted Chicken Alfredo, Cajun Chicken Ciabattas, Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi, Pulled Chicken and Chorizo Quesadillas and One Pan Lemon and Garlic Chicken with Thyme.
What are Ashleigh's top tips for making the most of your money?
- Ashleigh says to make sure you buy 1kg or a large pack of chicken breasts and stretch them between all your meals to make the most of your ingredients.
- You should also plan the meals which use the same vegetables, and divide them up before you start cooking.
- Her advice is to marinate the chicken the night before using whatever spices you have. She says this will make a huge difference to simple meals, and will make them as tasty as possible.
- Make all the meals using spices/oils/herbs and bits you already have at home. Stocking up on these items will help you save pennies, and also help to pack some flavour into your dishes.
