When you're out and about as a mother-daughter duo, chances are people will comment on how similar you look. Someone may have even mistaken you for sisters in the past. Most people would brush this compliment off as flattery, but one woman has claimed that strangers actually think her and her 22-year-old 'daughter' are siblings.
Barbie Porter, who goes by the name @thebarbieporter on TikTok has been boasting about her looks and claiming that she is 46-years-old. In many of her videos, she can be seen alongside another lookalike woman who she's calling her 'daughter'.
In one video, Barbie Porter, the so-called mum, says: "Okay, so one of us is 46 and the other one is 22."
"But, who's who?", she asked, as the other woman, Halie Ray, asked the same question. "Who's the mum and who's the daughter? Please let us know in the comments", they said.
Some viewers said it was obvious that Barbie was older, commenting that her neck area and amount of make-up were give-away characteristics - but many said she looked great for 46.
The plot thickens, however, as eagle-eyed social media users have spotted that the duo's story doesn't quite add up.
It transpires that Haile posted a selfie of the pair together on Instagram with the caption "Met last week and they already best friends".
This was enough evidence for suspicious Instagram users to debunk the duo's TikToks as a joke - but Barbie is still livid that people think she genuinely looks 46.
People in the comments on Barbie's TikTok video had mixed reactions.
None the wiser that the clip was a prank, one wrote: "Easy - mums is on the left. The childish giggle from the right gives it away."
Others said that it was tougher to differentiate the two because of their similarities.
Someone else commented: "Even though most people figured it out, don't listen to the haters and rude people. Y'all both look 22 and you know it!"
"Red is clearly 46 but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t look great for her age! She looks beautiful," another said.
"You look like sisters", someone gushed.
"Okay but the mum doesn’t look a day over 30", complemented one TikToker.
