Mum saves hundreds by ironing Nike logos onto Penneys clothes for teenage son

A mum is saving hundreds on her teenage son's clothes by ironing Nike logos onto his Penneys clothes.

Kat Burman, 37, refuses to fork out loads of cash on sports gear and instead fills her son's wardrobe with homemade Nike apparel for just a fraction of the price with a Cricut machine - which makes iron on designs. She taught herself to use it from YouTube.

She said her son "only cares about playing football and running around with his friends". Kat makes Nike ticks and logos and irons them on to €2.90 Penneys t-shirts and a plain PE bag. She also used the hack to alter a genuine Nike coat, covering over a pink logo - the only one in stock - with a white motif.

Kat’s teenage son has ADHD, making him more particular when it comes to fabrics and tags on clothes, so this was the perfect solution. She got the idea after using the kit to decorate facemasks. So, she then started doing it on clothing this summer holiday.

Kat said: “There is no point splashing out on expensive branded goods when all my son cares about is playing football and running around his friends - his clothes don’t last long. Honestly, nobody can tell the difference and he loves them.

“The coat is actually Nike but they only had one with a pink tick left in stock, so I printed over the pink with white.” Her teenage son also has ADHD, making him more particular when it comes to fabrics and 'tags' on clothes, she said.

Online users were blown away by Kat's genius craftwork. They filled the comment section with praise for her creativity. One said: "I need these iron-ons, my boy costs me a fortune!"

Another wrote: "You saved like hundreds of euros... great idea", another raved: "Love the idea and as well you can put your own twist on it”.

"I do the same for my son with characters and signs from video games" a final added, "Saved me a lot of cash. And he's happy."
