A furious mother claims her toddler son was left with a head injury as a result of a “reckless” bus driver.
Katie Ashley says she and 18-month-old Jake when the vehicle took a corner “at speed”, causing the youngster to tip headfirst from his pram into a pole.
As a result Jake, described by his mum as a cheeky chappie, suffered a bump on the head.
Katie, 29, has demanded an apology from bus firm Go North West, Manchester Evening News reported.
She said: “It was like it happened in slow motion as I went to get the pram, I could not quite grab him in time.
“I got him out straight away to make sure he was all right. There was no apology from the driver.
“I said what if that were an elderly person or a disabled child. It could have been a lot worse.
“I would like some accountability on this. It is important to make people [in the bus company] aware that this has happened.
“Jake is all right now. He causes chaos on the regular and he is back to doing that now.
“The bus company does have a duty of care for passengers though. The driver was just going too fast.
“Jake was upset at the time. He had a bump on his head.”
At the time Katie’s partner Darren Robinson confronted the driver but got no response.
The mum added: “It makes me anxious getting that bus now.
“I have got the 18 bus a few times before and I have never had this issue.”
A spokesperson for Go North West said the firm was looking into the incident.
They added: “We are sorry to hear a child bumped his head on one of our buses.
“We are aware of a complaint from this passenger and are looking into the circumstances."
Last month a bus driver was praised and told he “deserved a pay rise” after he booted a passenger off the bus for using a vile slur.
Footage appears to show a bus driver shepherding a passenger off of a bus at Rochdale bus station.
In the TikTok clip which has been viewed nearly three million times, the driver confronts the man who allegedly called a disabled passenger a “r*****”, Manchester Evening News reported .
The transport worker can be heard informing other staff members about the sickening slur used to describe people with a disability.
The video caption read “respect to the driver [for] defending disabled passenger” and other social media users flocked to praise the driver’s actions.
