A mum from Renfrewshire was told to consider abortion after doctors said her son would be paralysed, now she shares the outstanding progress he has made since undergoing revolutionary foetal surgery.

Lauren Wark was just 20 weeks into her pregnancy when she received the earth-shattering news that her son Phoenix would be born with Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida is a defect that is caused when the spine and spinal cord don't form properly, reports the Daily Record.
